Learn how to make Paneer Jalfrezi, a popular restaurant-style paneer recipe that has some vegetables thrown in. Paneer Jalfrezi goes fabulously with nan or pulao and gives a nice protein kick to the meal, especially for vegetarians.
- 1¼ cup Tomatoes
- 1 cup Onion, chopped
- 1 cup Green and Red bell Peppers
- 300 grams Cottage Cheese (Paneer)
- 1½ teaspoons Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1/4 teaspoon Kasuri Methi
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 2 pinches of Turmeric
- Salt as needed
1.Soak paneer in warm water for a while. Then, cut it lengthwise and keep it aside.
2.Grind tomatoes to a smooth puree and keep it aside.
3.Heat pan drizzled with oil and fry cumin seeds until it starts crackling.
4.First, add onions and cook till they turn transparent. Then add ginger garlic paste and saute it well until the raw aroma goes away.
5.Time to add the tomato puree and cook the puree till it thickens a bit.
6.Next up, add garam masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt (as per your taste). Saute everything until the raw aroma of tomatoes goes off.
7.Now, add bell peppers and saute until its half cooked.
8.Then, add paneer, kasuri methi and stir well so that everything is coated well. Let the mix cook for 3-4 minute.
9.Finally remove from the flame and serve it hot.
